TEMPELS......!

After living in Asia for 3 years now, I actually did not visit any temples anymore lately. Of course in the beginning we visited the most known and famous temples here but after a while you see and pass temples on a daily bases and you just don't notice them anymore. But then my daughter had a school project to do for local social.....Visit a temple in your neighborhood, take pictures and write about it.....so on our way we went today....!

"Chao Mae Tap Tim - The Crocodile Temple"

Our first temple I did visit actually 3 years ago during the

Jae Chinese Buddhist Vegetarian Festival and this very temple was run at that time by nons offering free vegetarian food to all visitors. At that time we were the only foreigners  and it was quite an experience, so remembering that and living really close by know it thought it would be nice to re-visit that particular temple, or Wat in Thai language. The way to the temple is stunning too....quiet, beautiful views, easy to ride with the motorbike, no traffic, and lots of pineapple fields! It did start to rain when we were on our way, but we just drove on...normally in this area it doesn't last long and we were prepared with our raincoats in our bags.

When we arrived at the temple, it was completely deserted....no monks, no nons, and just 1 dog....Nevertheless, it's worth the trip because you'll have some great views of the Pranburi River and Paknampran, a small town below...but see for yourself:

The little temple outside....

A fresh new start.....!

Initially this blog was supposed to be about cooking, but I never had the time or change to develop it further so it was just sitting there.....Now I've decided it will just be a mix of all sorts of things.....The name still fits because living as a foreigner in an Asian country, with lots of expat friends and therefor different cultures, I will try to fuse all my experiences, curiosities, adventures and knowhow in an easy way to read......I hope you'll enjoy reading my blog.
